Yes - A visa is required for travel to D.R. Congo

A valid passport and visa are required for missionary work in the Democratic Republic of Congo.


Passport Requirements:

Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, with at least one blank passport page available for visa stamp(s). Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for visa stamps.


D.R. Congo Visa Application Form:

Two original DR Congo visa application forms. After placing your order, fill out the application form included in your Visa Application Kit.
Washington, DC: One original DR Congo visa application form. After placing your order, fill out the application form included in your Visa Application Kit.


Photo Requirements:

Two recent, identical, 2 x 2 passport photographs, in color, front view and with a plain/light background.
Washington, DC:One recent 2 x 2 passport photograph, in color, front view and with a plain/light background.


Letter Of Invitation:

Notarized letter of invitation from host in Democratic Republic of Congo explaining the relationship to the applicant and the purpose of travel. In addition, the letter must indicate the length of stay, place of stay, and contact information.


Proof of Travel Arrangements:

Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or travel agency or copy of airline tickets.


Medical Requirements:

International certificate of vaccination against yellow fever.


Proof of Sufficient Funds:

New York: Evidence of sufficient funds to support stay in Democratic Republic of Congo; most recent bank statement, and proof of employment such as a letter of from the employer.


Special Instructions:

The Democratic Republic of the Congo, or D.R. Congo, is also commonly referred to as Congo-Kinshasa. This country should not be confused with the Congo Republic, which is a neighboring country.
